If you would like to
submit your project for airplay on one of our stations please do the
following:
We listen to everything
that comes across the desk. Sometimes this takes awhile, so please
allow two or three weeks before emailing to ask if your CD has been
received and reviewed. There is no particular genre we favor over
others.
Once your CD have been
received and reviewed we will send an email to the address provided
letting you know whether your project will be added to regular
rotation and on which stations or why it will not be.
Here are some tips before going through the trouble of submitting
music to The PJ Productions Radio Network.
We are here because we
enjoy networking with our music friends around the world and to have
the opportunity to assist artists in their efforts to promote and
market their music.
The PJ Productions Radio Network receives a number of CDs
every week and unfortunately, it take's time to review each
submission. So sometimes it may take a while for us to even get
around to listening to your CD.
The most beneficial
thing you could do is listen to the different stations The PJ
Productions Radio Network has to offer for a bit and make an
honest decision about whether your music fit our music format. This
small step alone could save you the cost of a CD, postage and
submission fees.
If you must send a demo
of your CD please know we will not accept or review any demo CD with
less than 2 full length songs.
Because of the number of CD submissions in a month from various
record companies and independent artists YOUR CD MUST HAVE A
LABEL on the CD itself. Should we receive a CD with no label or
marking to differentiate your CD from a blank CD we have laying
around the office it will be lost in the shuffle or thrown away! So
save yourself the time and get a sharpie marker and at least write
your name on the CD!
If you care enough
about your music that you want other people to pay attention to it,
you need to make it stand out somehow. The biggest mistake
many artists make is to send out a boring package. We've listened to
some truly horrible music because of clever packaging. Think of what
a bit of creativity could do for your brain-melting demo.
After a week or
two, send an email to submissions@pjpradio.com to follow up
on your submission. There's a pretty good chance that your
submission has been received and reviewed. However, don't be
offended if your submission has yet to be reviewed; it's nothing
personal. Now that you've called, your submission has a better
chance to be moved to the top of the stack. When you call about
the CD again and ask if it has been added, don't be offended if it
wasn't. Again, it's nothing personal. We're just picky, remember?
We depend on unique and independent artists to keep our
programming interesting and vital. We get really excited when we
hear something new and different. The aim of this little bit of
honesty isn't to discourage you from sending us your music. We
just want to be up-front about what we look for when we sift
through the stacks of CDs we receive every week. Hopefully it will
be of use to you not only for submitting music to The PJ
Productions Radio Network, but to any other radio station in the
country.
